 At Peace

When war is raging inside me
How can my soul live peacefully
For from my anxious thoughts I've reeled 
Till mind feels like a battlefield 

Yet, have the key to inner peace 
Am certain of the way, at least
Location perfect peace is found
Is when I seek out hallowed ground

I know that true peace has occurred
When I am standing on The Word
For when I seek God earnestly
I feel peace washing over me

Sometimes I come in great despair
Certain that calm and peace are there
Other times come as tired or weak
Knowing God offers what I seek

But there are times that I forget
And that's when I anxiously fret
Mind racing and filled with unease
It's then I must fall on my knees

For earthly peace's a fleeting thing
Eternal peace, just Christ can bring
So, I place my cares at his feet
And in exchange, receive sweet peace

How Did I Get Here? How did I get here? I don't know Seemed sometimes fast, other times slow Though, does not matter what the pace Still wonder how came to this place How did I reach this point in time? Reality of it's so sublime For most of journey was uphill Through hard fought land, yet, I'm here still How did I get from there to here? In baby steps year after year?
