 Whom Shall I Pray For?

Father, I ask you to show me today
A stranger or loved one of whom I should pray
Show me a person, bring them to my mind
Perhaps there is someone to me you've assigned

Who can I pray for; who needs heaven's aid
Who's lonely, or hurting, or maybe afraid
Who can I pray for? Show me where to find
The anxious or angry who need peace of mind

Perhaps it's our leaders or maybe a boss
Or possibly someone who's suffered a loss
It could be somebody who has lost their way
Show me, dear Father, of whom shall I pray

Show me a person; bring them to my mind
Might even be someone I've treated unkind
Bless those, even enemies, Jesus has said
So Father, please help me pray for them instead

It might be a neighbor or my family
It might be a stranger or one close to me 
May have some awareness of what they've been through
Or their needs may be something known only to you

Yet, I can pray for them, no matter the need
And ask Holy Spirit for them intercede 
To bless them and guide them or lead them back home
To make them aware they are never alone

For prayer is the way to bring heaven to earth
And praying for them shows you value their worth
Show me who to pray for, but God, when you do
Show somebody that I need praying for, too

For if I pray for you, and then you pray for me
Oh, just think of what glorious world this could be
So, let's pledge to all do it, yes starting today
So, show me, dear Father, of whom I should pray

How Did I Get Here? How did I get here? I don't know Seemed sometimes fast, other times slow Though, does not matter what the pace Still wonder how came to this place How did I reach this point in time? Reality of it's so sublime For most of journey was uphill Through hard fought land, yet, I'm here still How did I get from there to here? In baby steps year after year?
