241108 Invisible

 Invisible

Do you ever feel invisible
Like you are not seen at all
That if you walk into a room
You blend into the wall

Feel you're taken for granted
They do not see all you do
Yet, if you didn't do it
Heaven knows they would blame you

Do you feel that you're invisible
And your thoughts carry no weight
Perhaps they care about you
Though you've not felt it of late

Yes, we all want to be noticed
To be seen as having worth
To know that there's a reason
We've been placed upon this earth

Doesn't mean want to be famous
And that strangers know our name
But, since we can value others
Can't we expect just the same

Yet, what if we're invisible
All because we've made that choice
Choose to blend into the woodwork
Not to exercise our voice

Perhaps this kind of treatment's due
To what we tolerate
As if our value and our worth
Are open for debate

For, even those that love us
Might behave as we've allowed
So, if we don't value ourselves
Might not express feelings aloud

Our God, who is invisible
Sees all that we do and feel
So to him, we're not invisible
He sees us as a big deal

In fact, we are worth dying for
And that's just what Christ did
Thus, nothing 'bout God's love for us
Is invisible or hid

So stand up straight, and shout aloud
I am a child of God
I'm valued, seen and worthy
Then hear all heaven applaud
