250102 Holiday Feeling

 Holiday Feeling

The holiday season
Has come to an end
Decorations and lights
Are in storage again

Or perhaps you're too weary
To put them away
You'll do it tomorrow
Or maybe the next day

Our homes look so dreary
When tree's taken down
And that holiday feeling's
No longer around

The magic, excitement
We felt Christmas morn
Is replaced with a dullness
That feels rather worn

Though we may be excited
For new year to start
Why'd the wonder of Christmas
So quickly depart

Did we put that away
When we packed up the tree
Does the miracle story
Seem less, suddenly

Replaced with the worries
And work of each day
Till the joy of the season
Seems so far away

Yet, the birth of our Savior
Showed God's love so clear
Help us not to forget that
The rest of the year

Let us always remember
All of God's loving ways
Not just Christmas morn
But three sixty-five days

And then pass on that love
In all we do and say
Till each day feels like Christmas
Never got packed away
