 A Dream

I dreamt 'fore I woke up today
All hate and anger went away 
Self-centeredness was left behind 
And everyone was sweet and kind 

I dreamt that the whole human race
Showed only mercy, love, and grace
Peace, harmony throughout all lands
No longer needed ten commands

I dreamt that people hurt no more
That every illness had a cure
All jealousy and want were gone
True paradise arrived with dawn

Alas, I awakened to see
My dream was not reality 
For the whole world was broken still
People still fought; people got ill

But, oh, t'was such a pleasant dream
That vanished with day's first sunbeam
Though in dream state appeared quite real
Yet, while awake, lost no appeal

I think Creator had same dream
Yet, Satan hatched an evil scheme
Thus, what was lovely, good, and fair
Turned into mankind's worst nightmare 

And though devil tore world apart
Could not change longing of man's heart
That broken world, God could redeem
As so much more than a pipe dream

Indeed, man has a longing for
A life in Eden, as before
A world that holds no hate or pain
That perfect world God planned again

Though on earth now, that's still a dream
Till heaven we're stuck in between 
That ideal and reality
Yet, that dream lives inside of me

I'll live that dream in some small way
Show love and kindness through my day
By God's strength and within his will
And in my heart, be dreaming still

  'Tis the Season  'Tis the season to be jolly With mistletoe, pine boughs, and holly Yet, what if jolly's not your mood  But melancholy, you exude What if the carols in the air Remind you of someone not there Or crackling fire's bright light and heat Can't chase the cold of empty seat What if season's not full of thrills But full of lack and unpaid bills Though sugarplums fill your kid's head You know they'll get little instead  Perhaps in place of peace, good will You have a loved one very ill So thoughts don't turn to season's din But doctors visits, medicines While others have house full of guests All you have though is loneliness  The kids have grown and moved away So it's not the same holiday How blessed if season's joyous one But it is not for everyone  For most December brings good cheer For some, it's hardest time of year Whatever circumstance you claim The Christmas message's still the same That hope came through a baby...

  Little Things  I got a pebble in my shoe Though was a tiny thing It caused a bruise upon my heel And oh, such pain did bring  Was walking on a windy day Got speck of sand in eye Was almost too small to be seen  But surely made me cry A dear one was upset with me Harsh words - said one or two The sting of then, hard to forget Though we began anew A little fib seems no big deal No harm in a white lie Till it becomes a habit And the fibs just multiply Ofttimes, it's just a little thing That can throw you off track Yet, all those small things added up Can break the camel's back  And sometimes little things grow big Creating quite a mess For most don't simply go away When they are not addressed  Pebble must be removed from shoe The sand washed out of eye Harsh words need an apology  The truth, replace a lie  The devil knows this principle  So that's how he begins Whispers to you his little lies Compromises lead to sins He gets you to take little...
