 A Friend

Need people 'round you who believe 
What you put mind to, you'll achieve 
Those in your corner for the fight 
And of your victories, they delight 

Yes, all need those who have your back
Encourage when confidence you lack
That see the very best in you
Quick to forgive what e'er you do

Might be brand new or friend since youth
Need kind of friend who tells the truth
The one to seek for wise advice 
Be open with, and not think twice

The first you call when in distress
Won't shy away from your life's mess
Though they know every fault and flaw
Still love you in spite of it all

Rejoice if friend's reached this high bar
Or better yet, that's friend you are
For friends like that are rare indeed
Yet, something truly we all need

How blessed to have friends just like these
Who see the you that no one sees
The raw, unfiltered side of you
Yet, still their friendship remains true

May think there's no such friend for you
Though seems you don't have - truly do
One who sticks closer than all friends
One who on very life depends

That friend of course is Jesus Christ 
Loves you enough to sacrifice 
His own life; yes, he died for you
No greater love, no friend more true

Christ's been your friend right from the start 
The safest place to share your heart
He'll have your back; he'll fight for you
Your faith in him is tried and true

Though he knows you inside and out
He loves you so, without a doubt
The greatest blessing in the end
Is that your Savior calls you friend

  Little Things  I got a pebble in my shoe Though was a tiny thing It caused a bruise upon my heel And oh, such pain did bring  Was walking on a windy day Got speck of sand in eye Was almost too small to be seen  But surely made me cry A dear one was upset with me Harsh words - said one or two The sting of then, hard to forget Though we began anew A little fib seems no big deal No harm in a white lie Till it becomes a habit And the fibs just multiply Ofttimes, it's just a little thing That can throw you off track Yet, all those small things added up Can break the camel's back  And sometimes little things grow big Creating quite a mess For most don't simply go away When they are not addressed  Pebble must be removed from shoe The sand washed out of eye Harsh words need an apology  The truth, replace a lie  The devil knows this principle  So that's how he begins Whispers to you his little lies Compromises lead to sins He gets you to take little...
