250324 The Wind

 The Wind

The wind has blown for days and days
The sky is full of dusty haze
It fills my lungs and stings my eyes
And everything it touches dries

Not sure if it's ill wind that blows
Just know that it affects my nose
I sneeze and sniffle endlessly
With every airborne allergy

And though relentlessly it blows
Know not from where it comes or goes
Know only that it's by God's power
That it continues hour upon hour

I beg you, Lord, give it a rest
Though I am sure you know what's best
For after wind comes warming sun
Then I know springtime has begun

And with the wind seeds are dispersed
So flowered blanket covers earth
Then, after that it blows in rain
Cleansing the hazy air again

The blustery winds, however long
Are part of what makes trees grow strong
So, I guess I can be strong, too
Until these windy days blow through

Then, when strong winds finally decrease
To gently rustle spring's new leaves
A soft caress upon my hair
Reminding me God's always there

So wind, if it's your job to blow
Then my job is to let it go
For all of nature, God commands
Thus, I will trust it to his hands
