250325 The Lion and the Lamb

 The Lion and the Lamb

March comes in like a lion and out like a lamb
With blustery weather and then clear, blue skies
But, what can you say about the great I Am
As lion and lamb, he is characterized

The lion is known as a ferocious beast
Equipped with a thunderous roar
March weather can be quite often like that
Torrential rains from the fiercest downpour

Yet, can also be soft, tender and warm
Like the white fleece of a little lamb
With sweet, gentle breezes and fluffy, light clouds
But, what about the great I Am

All March weather's required, be it boisterous or calm
Part of God's perfect plan to have both
For with rain and sunshine, winter's grip is released
Just what's needed to spring forth new growth

When thinking of Jesus and all that he is
How each a lion and lamb he can be
Can be both strong and fierce, also gentle and kind
Though that seems to be a dichotomy

Yet, the lion of Judah, omnipotent Christ
Was so strong that he conquered the grave
But, like meek, gentle lamb, shed his blood for our sins
Perfect sacrifice; our souls did save

Lion Jesus can be fierce with his enemies
Strong and just as true evil he slays
Yet, to those that he loves and calls as his own
Lamb so gentle and kind in his ways

So as March blows on through, ponder glorious way
Very nature reflects our dear Lord
As our lion and lamb, sin's strong grip he defeats
Our right standing with God is restored
