 Inner Peace

If you're in search of inner peace 
From this world's woes want sweet release
The logical place to begin
Is seeing what you put within

If end of angst has been your goal
Pursuing calm within your soul
Don't go in search of things to fear
Or fail to filter what you hear

In order to give peace some room
Must be aware what you consume
For surest way your peace to lose
Is ingesting the nightly news

If you want to give peace a chance 
Watch which partner with whom you dance
For those who stir up anger, strife
Will suck peace right out of your life

If of peace, want to be partaker
Then do your best to be peacemaker
Though discord is what world will give
Seek harmony as way to live

When war rages within your head
By inner thoughts that you have said
Want chaos in your mind to cease
Must become your own thought police

Arresting thoughts that steal from you
Harmony, calm, love, and joy too
Make conscious  effort to release
All those that don't bring inner peace

If you have trouble doing such
Unsettling thoughts come way too much
Tranquility can be increased
When you seek out the Prince of Peace

Upset, fearful's no way to live
Ask Father; he will freely give
When pray to him in Jesus' name
Sweet inner peace is yours to gain

How Did I Get Here? How did I get here? I don't know Seemed sometimes fast, other times slow Though, does not matter what the pace Still wonder how came to this place How did I reach this point in time? Reality of it's so sublime For most of journey was uphill Through hard fought land, yet, I'm here still How did I get from there to here? In baby steps year after year?
