 Christ's Hands and Feet

To be the hands and feet of Christ
A sentiment that seems quite nice
But how to do it anyway?
To put Christ's love on full display?

To be more than a platitude 
Adopt a giving attitude
Not simply one of being nice
But one of humble sacrifice

We can't do it sitting at home
Must get out of our comfort zone
If want to be Christ's hands and feet
Then we must get up off our seat

Writing a check can help, no doubt
Won't change us much from inside out
True transformation, we will see
When we choose to get hands dirty 

Invest some time or volunteer 
To sad or lonely, lend an ear
Prepare a meal, visit the sick
Get off our duffs; get on the stick

Ask God to point us to a need
To someone's aid, then intercede 
Don't wait for someone else to do it
Decide to help, then follow through it

Done with intentionality
Is how more Christ like we can be
Adopt Christ's sense of servitude 
Then Christ's love also we'll exude

When we give of ourselves freely
Joy we receive is heavenly
Nothing in life makes us complete
Like being Jesus's hands and feet

How Did I Get Here? How did I get here? I don't know Seemed sometimes fast, other times slow Though, does not matter what the pace Still wonder how came to this place How did I reach this point in time? Reality of it's so sublime For most of journey was uphill Through hard fought land, yet, I'm here still How did I get from there to here? In baby steps year after year?
